Bored out Cartech restrictor too much

To get the Cartech to respond quicker (it was too slow with the unmodified restrictor causing bad bogging), I bored out the restrictor.

That (plus an AEM FPR) cured the bog, but I apparently bored it out too much, because with the bleeder fully open, I can't get peak FP below 83psi (35psi static, 11psi in manifold).

I'm trying to restrict the flow some more with a hose clamp on the vacuum line, but it only takes 1 turn of the clamp to go from fully open to fully closed. Plus, I won't be surprised if the bog comes back.

I'm thinking more and more of sending it back to Bell Engineering to get a second bleeder put on. Who was it that did that? Any info?

Hey Holden, contact Nusier. Maybe he can make you a custom set for little $$. I've been experimenting with three different sized restrictor jets he made.

It was me who sent my Cartech back. Corky made some changes on the inside (I couldn't really tell the difference since I didn't take any "before" pictures") and he also added a second bleeder to the cap.

I'm not sure if that can be done on the 20005 since the bleeder is not integrated into the cap, but I don't see why not.

Give Corky a call. He's a nice guy and will totally work with you. The only problem is that you'll have to run the JR FMU while the Cartech is getting worked on.

Johnny Tso told me that you can buy restrictors in the parts stores. He was right. I found the exact one he was talking about.

These restrictors are plastic connectors with a brass insert that is the restriction. So if you want to mess around with your restrictor, a fresh start is only $1.69 away.

I'll try drilling it out bit by bit, but I don't have any bits smaller than 1/16" as of now. This restrictor is more restrictive than the cartech one.

For now, I tried the hose clamp over tape over the hose, but things slipped around. Now I'm trying this:
